Northampton Town midfielder Lawson D'Ath has extended his short-term deal at the club until 2016.
The 21-year-old agreed a contract until January following his release by Reading, and scored twice on his debut in a 3-2 League Cup win over Wolves.
He has gone on to feature 10 times for Chris Wilder's side and has a total of four goals.
"He has done really well for us, either starting games or coming off the bench," said Wilder.
"We feel he has done enough, and shown enough potential, for us to want him to be part of the squad we are building for the longer term."
