Dwight Tiendalli is set to return to training with Swansea City on Tuesday.
The Dutch defender has been sidelined with a groin injury and has not played since the Capital One Cup Trophy victory over Rotherham on 26 August.
Tiendalli's return could be timely with Angel Rangel set to sit out Saturday's Premier League home game with Newcastle United with a one-match ban.
If the match comes too soon for Tiendalli, Jazz Richards is likely to deputise for Rangel at right-back.
Meanwhile, Leon Britton is progressing following a stress fracture in his knee which has sidelined him this season, but the midfielder will not be back until at least after the international break.
