The Pars striker hit the post with an early shot before breaking the deadlock on 29 minutes with a fine strike into the top corner from 18 yards.
El Bakhtaoui was denied by the woodwork again after the interval, this time finding the crossbar.
And the visitors held on comfortably to consign Ayr United to their third straight defeat.
