Scunthorpe United 1-1 Colchester United

Scunthorpe struggled to a draw at home to Colchester in Mark Robins's first game in charge.

The Iron went in front when Rory Fallon headed in Gary McSheffrey's free-kick at the near post.

But Colchester levelled through Freddie Sears, who turned to drill in a shot from the edge of the box.

Scunthorpe faded and Colchester had late chances - Rhys Healey hit the post and George Moncur blazed over - as the hosts remained in the relegation zone.

Mark Robins: Scunthorpe United boss after Colchester draw

Mark Robins speaking to BBC Radio Humberside:

"I think that we could have won the game - but we could also have lost the game.

"there are a lot of areas where we could be better and I think there are basics that need to be addressed but on the whole there were some decent bits and pieces.

"It looked a little bit like we are an in between team, but there are things that are clear from tonight that will be addressed."
