AFC Wimbledon were made to pay for missed chances as they and Plymouth played out a goalless draw.
The game's best chance fell to Andy Frampton on the stroke of half-time but the Dons defender somehow found the side-netting from just six yards out.
Earlier, Matt Tubbs' low effort had been tipped around the near post by Argyle goalkeeper Luke McCormick.
After the break, a looping Adebayo Akinfenwa hit the crossbar and that was the closest either side came to a goal.
AFC Wimbledon manager Neal Ardley told BBC London 94.9:
"It was quite full-blooded, with a lot of players running hard and putting bodies on the line. There was no inch given.
"I think it was probably a fair result. Both defences and keepers played really, really well.
"Every player has had a decent game and played for the team. I asked for a response after the Wycombe game and I got it in their performance levels."
