Match ends, Port Vale 3, Leyton Orient 0.
Port Vale maintained their recent upturn in form with a comfortable home victory over 10-man Leyton Orient.
The O's faced an uphill battle when Darius Henderson was sent off for an elbow on Richard Duffy on 30 minutes.
They held on until the second half before conceding, but Adam Yates powered a shot into the top right-hand corner to put Vale ahead before Ben Williamson drilled in a second.
Nathan Clarke then deflected Michael O'Connor's free-kick into his own net.
Orient slipped to 18th in the table, while Vale, without injured top scorer Tom Pope, move up to 16th, having now lost just twice in seven games under interim boss Rob Page.
Port Vale interim manager Rob Page told BBC Radio Stoke:
"We knew we had to be at our very best to get something out of the game. We had to be patient in the build-up as, away from home, they're a difficult side. They've shown that in the last four results they've picked up.
"Some of the crowd were getting frustrated in the second half when we were 2-0 up and keeping the ball, but that is a good trait to have. And some of our play was exceptional.
"The clean sheet is really pleasing. I wanted that clean sheet desperately. We defended really well. From front to back we were well organised. Not only have we scored three goals but we've kept a clean sheet as well."
Leyton Orient caretaker manager Kevin Nugent told BBC London 94.9:
"We didn't start the game particularly well with 11 players, and when you get a man sent off that early it made it difficult for us.
'Whether you have 10 or 11 men, if you do not win the tackles you cannot win the points.
'Our away form has gone today, we will dust ourselves down after today and hopefully be OK at home next week."
