Olympiakos and Panathinaikos players argue during the derby between their sides
The derby between Olympiakos and Panathinaikos proved a cautious match

Olympiakos edged a victory over Athens rivals Panathinaikos, who had coach Giannis Anastasiou sent off.

Central defender Tasos Avlonitis headed in his first Greek Super League goal for the eventual winner.

Olympiakos were awarded a penalty when Panathinaikos keeper Luke Steele, who was signed from Barnsley, fouled forward Kostas Mitroglou.

But Steele saved Mitroglou's spot-kick before Anastasiou was sent to the stands for complaining.
