Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara faces another lengthy spell out after undergoing a knee operation.
The 23-year-old has not played since 29 March when he suffered a knee injury in a 3-3 draw with 1899 Hoffenheim.
He suffered a setback in his recovery and had to have an operation, ruling the Spain international out of the 2014 World Cup.
He has again had to undergo surgery after tearing knee ligaments after returning to training.
"Thiago faces a long lay-off and is likely to be out of action for several months," read a Bayern statement.
Prior to the latest operation, Thiago told the Bayern website: "What can I say? Obviously, I'm deeply disappointed and upset. Why always me?
"But I won't give up. I'll keep on fighting. I'll get fit again. And I will make my comeback at Bayern."
