Exeter City 1-1 Luton Town

Luton survived a second-half onslaught to earn a point at Exeter City and extend their unbeaten run in League Two to 10 games.

Scott Griffiths headed the Hatters in front from Andy Drury's corner.

City dominated after the break as Scot Bennett missed from close range when Graham Cummins' header was saved.

Exeter were rewarded for their pressure when Tom Nichols slotted in a penalty after Christian Ribeiro was fouled by Griffiths.

City could have easily won it in the second half as substitute Liam Sercombe just missed with a couple of long-range efforts, while Cummins and Nichols also missed excellent chances inside the last 15 minutes as Luton absorbed wave after wave of pressure.

Luton were the third side to come to Exeter while leading League Two this season and were the first to come away with any points.

In the last six weeks both Bury and Wycombe were beaten 2-1 by City at St James Park while on top of the table.

The point sees Luton drop to second in League Two behind Wycombe, after their victory at Oxford.

Luton Town manager John Still told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"Would I have settled for a point before the game? No I wouldn't because I never do.

"We have worked really hard and we were fully aware that they've beaten the two previous teams here.

"On reflection on the game I can be delighted to take a point.

"We felt we would play deeper and play narrow so we could deal with crosses."
