Tranmere Rovers 2-2 Stevenage

Defender Michael Ihiekwe left it late to redeem an early error as Tranmere salvaged a 2-2 draw with Stevenage.

The 21-year-old gifted the visitors the lead when he deflected Charlie Adams' cross into his own net in the 14th minute before scoring an equaliser in the sixth minute of injury time.

Lee Barnard had made it 2-0 for Stevenage when he ran on to keeper Chris Day's long ball.

Steven Jennings had triggered the comeback with a strike from long range.

Stevenage Manager Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio:

"We talked about home advantage in the week and what it can do. So these decisions make a big difference to a game and they've affected things again today no question about it.

"When we had our starting 11 on the pitch we looked strong, solid and organised; it was almost back to the Stevenage of old.

"It was a shame to lose Beardo (Chris Beardsley) because our shape had to change and then it was a shame to lose (Dean) Ashton as well, if he was on the pitch that header gets won at the end and we win 2-1 anyway.

"In the end when all is said and done, Tranmere is not an easy place to come to. They've got a decent home crowd, it's a passionate football heartland and I'm sure they won't be at the bottom of this league for very long."
