Academy striker Ben Hirst has signed his first professional contract with York City, keeping him at the League Two club until June 2016.
The 17-year-old made his first-team debut for the Minstermen at Tranmere on the opening day of the season.
He is yet to start a senior game for the club, having made a total of five substitute appearances to date.
"He's still got lots to improve on, but it's great to have him on board," York boss Russ Wilcox told the club website.
"He's been in the system for five years or so, and I think it shows everyone what a great job the academy staff are doing."
