Former Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Eddie Stuart has died at the age of 83, following a long illness.
Stuart played 322 games for the club and was a member of the league title-winning sides of 1954, 1958 and 1959.
Chief executive Jez Moxey said in a statement: "He was one of the legends who played such a key role in the club's achievements in the 1950s.
"Eddie will be fondly remembered by all Wolves fans and we send our sincere condolences to his family and friends."
South Africa-born Stuart, who became Wolves captain in 1959, won the Second Division title with Stoke City after joining them in 1962, and later played for Tranmere Rovers and Stockport County.
