Newport County midfielder Robbie Wilmott is likely to miss the rest of the season.
The foot injury he suffered in October is worse than first thought and manager Justin Edinburgh has confirmed he will undergo an operation next week.
Meanwhile, the club are still waiting to hear if striker Joe Pigott will be cleared to play in Saturday's FA Cup tie at Luton Town.
Pigott is on loan from Championship club Charlton until 22 November.
Charlton have until midday on Friday to grant him permission to play.
