Torquay United assistant manager Lee Hodges says they are "back on track" after at the Hive.
The Gulls had lost six of their previous seven games, but the win moved them up to eighth in the table.
"We've beaten a Barnet team that are a good, strong, physical team and the boys have held their own.
"I thought our players were excellent all over the pitch," 41-year-old Hodges told BBC Radio Devon.
Torquay went into the game on a four-match losing run, including being at Aldershot.
"Over the last few weeks we've been desperate to get a result, the boys have been trying hard and the last two performances we haven't been where we want to be," Hodges said.
"Tonight was a very good night for us and hopefully it'll get us back on track."
