BBC Sport - Jose Riga explains public sacking row at Blackpool

Riga did not 'want a fight' at Blackpool

Former Blackpool manager Jose Riga tells Football Focus he "didn't want a fight" at the club, but says he had to "tell the truth".

Riga was sacked by Blackpool in October, with the club bottom of the Championship table on six points. The Belgian, was only appointed in June but had won just one of 15 games in all competitions, with 11 defeats.

The Seasiders squad had just six first-team players when he arrived in early pre-season and Riga publically questioned his chairman's commitment to signing new players.
