Cliff Byrne: Alfreton Town sign ex-Derry and Scunthorpe defender

Alfreton Town have signed former Scunthorpe United defender Cliff Byrne on non-contract terms.
Byrne spent nine years with The Iron before joining Oldham Athletic in 2012 and, after leaving the club in January, he has been playing for Derry City.
The 32-year-old former Republic of Ireland Under-21 international came through the youth ranks at Sunderland.
Alfreton have also extended the loan deal of Fleetwood Town defender Tom Davies until 13 December.
