Morecambe rescued a draw at Stevenage as Padraig Amond came off the bench to head in a late equaliser.
Boro broke the deadlock when David McAllister was chopped down in the area by Mark Hughes and Simon Walton calmly slotted his penalty into the corner.
Stevenage goalkeeper Chris Day denied substitute Amond in each half before he equalised for the visiting team.
Amond was left unmarked in the middle to head Jamie Devitt's corner into the top corner.
Stevenage manager Graham Westley told BBC Three Counties Radio:
"I thought it was a fair result. They came with a strong gameplan and I think their mentality when they scored the goal showed they were happy with that point and happy to see the game out.
"When you've got four, five or six players coming back from injuries sometimes your legs flag and we're just delighted to have a two-week break now to get some pre-season work done in some of the lads who have been out.
"It wasn't an open game - they were rugged and determined in the way they played and made it quite hard. And when you haven't got that fluency because of changes to your team sometimes it'll be difficult and disjointed, which it was today.
"Good goalkeepers are there to do their job at times, and Chris Day certainly pulled the team out of jail once or twice."
