Marseille have won 11 of their last 13 league games

Marseille extended their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to four points as goals by Florian Thauvin and Rod Fanni saw off Nantes.

Thauvin, 21, opened the scoring with a superb left-footed flick following Dimitri Payet's cross.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou was denied an equaliser by Steve Mandanda and Fanni doubled the lead before the break with a header from Thauvin's cross.

Paris St-Germain can reduce Marseille's lead to one point on Saturday.

They entertain mid-table Nice as Laurent Blanc's side go in search of a sixth straight league win.

Nantes are 10 points behind Marseille after suffering a first league defeat since 14 September.
