Liam Roberts: Walsall goalkeeper joins Southport on loan

Southport currently sit three points outside the relegation zone in the Conference

Conference side Southport have signed Walsall goalkeeper Liam Roberts on loan until January.

The 20-year-old has been at been on loan at Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division One South side Rainworth this term.

Roberts has yet to make his first appearance for League One Saddlers.

"We've had some positive reports from his time at Rainworth and hopefully he can do well at Southport," Walsall boss Dean Smith told the club website.

"It's an opportunity for him to play regular games at a good level and also link up with Amadou Bakayoko who is doing well there."
