Huddersfield Town 2-1 Brentford
Sean Scannell marked his 100th Huddersfield Town appearance with a goal to help end Brentford's five-game winning run.
Scannell met a low Nahki Wells cross to score from a tight angle, while home keeper Alex Smithies denied Alan Judge and Jake Bidwell at the other end.
Bidwell found the back of his own net after the break, turning in a fiercely hit Jack Robinson cross.
Jonathan Douglas pulled one back with a prodded effort, but the hosts held on.
Huddersfield's first victory in five games moves them up to 15th in the Championship, while Brentford slip back to fifth and four points off top spot after failing to add to their club record-equalling run of five wins in English football's second tier.

|Victory against high-flying Brentford comes 35 days days after their last win. Since beating Nottingham Forest 3-0 at home on 1 November, the Terriers lost at Derby County, Fulham and Bolton, and shared the spoils with Sheffield Wednesday at the John Smith's Stadium.|
The Bees started brightly with Douglas glancing a header wide from a Moses Odubajo cross and Smithies was called on to make a fine save to keep Judge's deflected effort out.
Scannell punished the visitors for their inability to deal with Wells' neatly pulled back cross from the near post on 18 minutes, racing in to lash home after Grant Holt failed to reach the ball.
Smithies protected the lead by denying Bidwell, who latched onto the rebound from Mark Hudson's block on Alex Pritchard.
Both sides continued to threaten before half-time, with Jacob Butterfield calling Bees keeper David Button into action, while Pritchard twice went close for the Londoners.
Bidwell, under pressure from Scannell, then bundled the ball into his own goal after Robinson whipped in a dangerous cross.
Wells wasted two glorious chances to make it three before Douglas got on the end of a pass from substitute Tommy Smith to make it 2-1.
Button also denied Wells from point-blank range, while Smithies made a number of crucial late saves to ensure Chris Powell's men claimed all three points.
Huddersfield manager Chris Powell: "I thought we played exceptionally well, there was a real intensity to our play.
"We were quite brave against a team that was going well and for 80 minutes it was a really good performance. In the last 10 minutes they put us under pressure.
"It was hairy-scary at times but that's the Championship for you."
Brentford manager Mark Warburton: "Goals really do change games and we have to be more clinical.
"This group of players has great character and we got the goal back but it just didn't happen for us.
"They defended valiantly and their keeper made some good saves."
