Southport P-P Braintree Town

The overnight frost was still settled on Southport's pitch on Tuesday morning

Tuesday's Conference match between Southport and Braintree Town has been postponed because of a frozen pitch.

An inspection took place on Tuesday morning at the Merseyrail Community Stadium and an early decision was taken with temperatures not expected to rise.

It would have been Southport's first match since Gary Brabin left his position as manager to take a coaching role at Premier League side Everton.

A new date for the fixture is yet to be announced.
