Chaplin opened the scoring before the break, sliding in at the back post to convert Liam Cusack's low cross.
The Rovers midfielder killed the game off with his second seven minutes after the restart, a low drive from a Ross Davidson corner.
Marc McKenzie then added a third in stoppage time, slotting in at the end of a counter attack.
