Andy Jackson hit a first-half hat-trick as Brechin booked a trip to Falkirk in the Scottish Cup fifth round by beating Annan in their replay.
City were three up within half an hour as Jackson, 26, headed in a Ewan McNeil cross, fired home a second and latched on to a Bobby Barr pass for his third.
Scott Davidson managed to pull one back for Annan after 68 minutes.
But Colin Hamilton's headed fourth for Brechin meant David Hopkirk's 76th-minute finish was a mere consolation.
