Queen's Park remain three points behind League Two leaders Arbroath after claiming a narrow win over Montrose.

John Carter put the visitors in front with a delightful finish past goalkeeper Stuart McKenzie.

And the Spiders extended their lead when Darren Miller's corner was headed in by Paul Woods at the back post.

Garry Wood smashed home a penalty for the hosts after Bryan Wharton had fouled Leighton McIntosh but it proved only to be a consolation.
