Danny Wilson 's side achieved their first league victory for five games

Conor Hourihane slotted his 10th league goal of the season as Barnsley boss Danny Wilson's 1,000th game as a manager ended in victory.

Kane Hemmings split Orient's defence early in the first half and Hourihane rounded keeper Adam Legzdins to score.

Dale Jennings then crossed to Devante Cole, who easily found the corner.

Dean Cox twice came close for Orient, but Barnsley held out for a clean sheet despite keeper Ross Turnbull being sent off for handling outside the box.

Danny Wilson: Barnsley manager on Orient win

"It was full of commitment, great application, great attitude, two terrific goals.

"It was backs against the wall second half, particularly with the second half, so all those ingredients were there for us today.

"The pleasing thing is that we came off the back of a very good win at Chester and continued with that type of performance, which is great."

Leyton Orient winger Dean Cox told BBC London 94.9:

Dean Cox on Barnsley v Orient

"It was a bad start and we didn't really create much, but we take spirit from the second half performance. We're a bit low on confidence.

"Obviously with four managers in a season, it's not great from any stretch of the imagination for the players. But it's the cards we've been dealt with and we're trying our best to get these results.

"The previous managers have had different ideas to the one we've got now so it's difficult to implement exactly he wants on the pitch.

"Obviously the language barrier is a bit difficult from the sidelines when he's trying to give instructions. Some of the lads don't understand what he's saying, so it's difficult."
