Matthew Barnes-Homer scored twice as Macclesfield moved to second with an emphatic victory at Alfreton.
The hosts had taken an early lead with Bradley Wood winning and converting a penalty.
But Barnes-Homer turned in Scott Barrow's cross before giving Macclesfield the lead.
Danny Whitaker, Chris Holroyd and Denny Johnstone added further goals with Waide Fairhurst also missing a penalty after Whitaker had been brought down.
