Colchester United will extend the loan deal of Ipswich Town defender Elliott Hewitt by a further month.
The 20-year-old has played eight games across two spells with the U's this season, after making four appearances for Town earlier in the campaign.
"We've been pleased with Elliott," Colchester boss Tony Humes told BBC Essex.
"He still has a lot of learning to do but he's improving the defensive side of his game week by week."
He added: "Playing Elliott a little bit more advanced is something that we've looked at. He's a very attack-minded player and it's something that we would consider."
Meanwhile, Colchester defender Michael O'Donoghue is set to miss the rest of the season after rupturing knee ligaments.
The 18-year-old had featured once this term.
