Woking 1-2 Aldershot Town

Aldershot ended a run of five successive defeats with a victory at play-off hopefuls Woking.

The Shots took the lead on seven minutes when Andre McCollin's cross-shot caught out home goalkeeper Ross Worner.

The visitors doubled their lead before the break through Brett Williams' close-range finish.

Woking pulled one back late on when Josh Payne played in Jack Marriott, who finished well.

Woking manager Garry Hill told BBC Surrey:

"We didn't do enough today, there are no excuses.

"They thoroughly deserved to win the game, they had more desire and commitment than us. They are not a brilliant team, but are a hard working team and you have to give them credit.

"We never really got going in the first-half - we were shocked that we were 2-0 down and they might have been shocked being 2-0 up.

"We are a team at the moment which has lost our way. Whether there's too much pressure or expectation on some of the players I don't know? We now have to make sure that we dig deep."

Aldershot Town manager Andy Scott told BBC Surrey:

"As a manager you're relieved after every win, that's just the way it is. Sometimes you don't get what you deserve and we haven't over recent weeks.

"The credit has to go to the players today, they were absolutely fantastic, they showed exactly what they are about.

"We knew it was a big game, not just because we've had a poor run but because it means everything for us to get a win.

"To do it here is extra special for our fans. They deserve to have something to cheer about because it has been a tough month for us."
