Ligue 1 leaders Marseille were knocked out of the French Cup as fourth-tier Grenoble came from behind three times before winning 5-4 on penalties.
Florian Thauvin missed the decisive penalty to complete one of the biggest shocks in the competition's history.
Andre-Pierre Gignac's first-half brace was cancelled out by goals from Mourad Nasrallah and Fares Hachi.
Andre Ayew looked to have won it in extra time but Grenoble's Selim Bengriba made it 3-3 with a header.
"We didn't do what we had to do and to lose this match is unacceptable," said Ayew.
"We were leading three times but we now have to concentrate on the second half of the league season, which is very important.
"Grenoble showed a lot of desire and determination but we're very disappointed."
