Derby County goalkeeper Lee Grant has signed a new deal which keeps him at the club until the summer of 2017.

The 31-year-old has made 74 appearances for the Rams since joining from Burnley for his second spell in May 2013 and has become the first-choice number one.

Head coach Steve McClaren told the club website: "He is a very important part of the framework, not just as a keeper but starting moves from the back."

Ex-England Under-21 international Grant progressed through Derby's youth ranks.

He had loan spells with the Clarets and Oldham before joining Sheffield Wednesday in July 2007 and, after three years with the Owls, he joined Burnley.
