Queen of the South have completed a deal for Mark Millar that will keep the midfielder at Palmerston Park until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old former Dundee United and Falkirk player arrives from Peterhead, having played 11 games for the League One side.
He replaces Mark Kerr, who was allowed to join Championship rivals Falkirk.
Manager James Fowler described a dressing room spat with Kerr as "just general after the game frustration".
Talking to BBC Radio Scotland, the Doonhamers boss denied reports of a major falling-out with Kerr.
"Things get said in the heat of the moment and blown out of proportion," he explained.
"We had a discussion and senior figures at the club got involved as well and that's when you need to take a decision. It was then a mutual thing for Mark to move on."
