Forest Green Rovers moved to within a place of the play-offs as Jon Parkin's double secured victory at Braintree.
Rovers went ahead after 68 minutes when Charlie Clough headed on Marcus Kelly's corner and Parkin turned the ball home.
Mid-table Braintree looked to have rescued a draw when a Dan Sparkes free-kick fell to Sean Marks to equalise.
But Parkin sealed a third straight win for Rovers with a looping header from Elliott Frear's cross three minutes from time.
Forest Green Rovers manager Ady Pennock told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:
"It's a fantastic three points. It's a really tough place to come. They put us under a lot of pressure and it could have been 6-6.
"Conceding a goal like we did, to go up the other end and score two minutes later was very good.
"We came out slowly but we threw our bodies on the line and had a bit of luck. We woke up after 20 minutes and were in the game.
"That's three wins on the spin now in the league, which is very good."
