Southend United have signed Charlton Athletic striker Joe Pigott in an initial one-month loan deal.
The 21-year-old played against the Shrimpers during a loan spell with Newport earlier this season, where he scored three goals in 11 games.
"He caught our eye in a behind-closed-doors game against Charlton the other week," said boss Phil Brown.
"He's one of the best finishers at Charlton and I'm hoping he can bring goals to the team."
The deal runs until 10 February, but Southend have an option to extend the loan beyond that date.
Pigott has made 16 appearances for Charlton, two of them as a substitute in the Championship this season, and also had a loan spell at Gillingham last term.
