Matt Young: Carlisle United sign Sheffield Wednesday defender

Matt Young has never made a senior first-time appearance

League Two strugglers Carlisle United have signed Sheffield Wednesday defender Matt Young on a one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old joined the Owls from Southampton in the summer but has yet to feature for the Championship side.

Carlisle manager Keith Curle had said on Friday that the club were confident of making some signings on Saturday but refused to name them.

Young goes straight into the squad for Saturday's game against Cambridge.
