MK Dons loanee Tom Flanagan impresses Plymouth Argyle boss

Plymouth Argyle boss John Sheridan has said he was impressed with the way on-loan Tom Flanagan played on his debut.

The 23-year-old defender on Friday and started Saturday's having not trained with his new side.

"He was very calm and collected and I was very pleased with the way he went about his game," said Sheridan.

"I've liked him, he's been in and out of the team at MK Dons and we all know what good football MK Dons play."

Flanagan's temporary deal at Home Park runs out on 10 February.

Sheridan said he was keen to bring someone in with Anthony O'Connor's loan from Blackburn soon to expire.

O'Connor is but no deal has yet been finalised, and Peter Hartley is also currently missing through injury.

"I just felt we needed cover in that area and I'm very pleased with the way he's come in and played in his first game," Sheridan told BBC Radio Devon.

"I knew he'd come in and be a good ball player, he's a good size, he plays left side and he's good with both feet."
