Christian Burgess helped Peterborough end a five-game winless streak as they overcame Notts County at Meadow Lane.
Marcus Maddison gave the visitors an early lead with a deflected strike that beat goalkeeper Roy Carroll.
County's Hungarian forward Balint Bajner, who was making his full debut, crossed for Garry Thompson to fire the ball into the top corner to equalise.
Peterborough began the second half strongly before Burgess headed in Joe Newell's corner to secure victory.
Notts County manager Shaun Derry told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"I can't tell you how disappointed I was with that performance. I thought it was a great opportunity to get us in the top six against a team low on confidence.
"We knew they would come and put up a fight for their manager, which they did.
"We needed to be better than that today. The manner of the defeat, the goals we conceded once again weren't acceptable.
"We need to have a good chat on Monday and let them know that that's not acceptable."
