Yeovil Town 0-0 Coventry City

Goalkeeper Jed Steer saved a second-half penalty against Coventry City to help Yeovil Town move off the bottom of League One with a goalless draw.

After a dull first half, which saw only two shots on target, Seth Twumasi brought down Reda Johnson in the box.

Steer, on loan from Aston Villa, sparked the Glovers into the life by denying Gary Madine from the spot.

Jamar Loza and Liam Shephard had chances for the hosts as Yeovil extended their unbeaten run to three.

The point at Huish Park moved Coventry to 17th in the table.

Yeovil Town manager Gary Johnson told BBC Somerset:

"We gave ourselves a chance in the second half. I thought the first half was a little bit non-descript.

"There wasn't a lot going on. Both teams were trying to suss each other out. Neither team could afford to lose.

"In the second half, we were the ones going for the result. They hit us on the break with the penalty but it was a good save by Jed."

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley told BBC Coventry and Warwickshire:

"The penalty is crucial. When you get a penalty you've got to score and it's a decisive moment - it actually gave their side a lift.

"You can see that both sides are not brimming with confidence at this moment in time, but points like this, clean sheets, coming here and not losing helps add to that confidence.

"It gives us a foundation, it gives us something to build from and I was really pleased with the effort of the group today. The desire of the group, the mentality of the group was excellent and I'm proud of them for that."
