Paris St-Germain 4-2 Evian

Marco Verratti
Paris St-Germain have won the Ligue 1 title in both of the last two seasons

Reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris St-Germain defeated Evian to move within four points of leaders Lyon.

Cedric Barbosa gave the visitors the lead after Zlatan Ibrahimovic's error, but David Luiz headed in an equaliser.

Marco Verratti prodded home for his first league goal for PSG, before team-mate Gregory van der Wiel scored an own goal with a misguided header.

But Javier Pastore swept in Lucas Moura's cross and Edinson Cavani tapped in a fourth to seal PSG's victory.

It was the Uruguayan striker's eighth goal of the season and came after he had been dropped for three matches after he and Ezequiel Lavezzi returned late from their Christmas holidays.

The result took PSG, title winners in both the last two seasons, back up to third, although they remain three points behind Marseille, who beat Guingamp 2-1 later on Sunday.

PSG back to winning ways
Paris St-Germain's victory was their first in four Ligue 1 matches.

Before the game, a minute's silence was held to honour the victims of the Paris terrorist attacks on 7-9 January, where 17 people died.

Once the match started, Barbosa took advantage of Ibrahimovic's poor header to give the visitors, 18th in the table, a shock lead, before Luiz headed in Thiago Motta's corner.

Verratti gave Laurent Blanc's side a half-time lead, but van der Wiel's own goal made it 2-2.

But PSG gained a deserved victory as Pastore scored a third and Cavani netted from Ibrahimovic's pass late on.

In Sunday's late match, Marseille kept up the pressure on Lyon with a 2-1 win over Guingamp.

Mario Lemina and Andre-Pierre Gignac scored late goals from close range. Claudio Beauvue pulled one back from the spot with almost the last kick after he was fouled by Rod Fanni, who was sent off.
