Forest Green Rovers have signed former St Mirren striker James Marwood on an 18-month contract.
The 24-year-old's contract with the Scottish Premiership club was ended by mutual consent earlier this week.
He made 15 appearances for them, without scoring, after spending the previous four years with Gateshead.
"Lots of clubs we're showing interest as soon as he became available, so we are very happy to have him on board," said Forest Green boss Ady Pennock.
Gateshead boss Gary Mills had indicated he was open to the possibility of Marwood returning to them, but the England C international instead moved to the New Lawn.
He is the fourth signing by Forest Green this month, following the arrival of Stuart Fleetwood, Charlie Clough and Corby Moore.
