Former Liverpool and Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez says he is unsure whether he will still be in charge of Serie A team Napoli next season.

Benitez, 54, is yet to agree a new contract with the side and his current deal expires at the end of this season.

The Spaniard took over at Napoli in May 2013 and they are third in Serie A.

He said: "Basically, I haven't made any decision yet. I have three months to find out what my future will be. The club and I both know how things stand."

Napoli won the Coppa Italia last season and are in the quarter-finals this year after they beat Udinese 5-4 on penalties following a 2-2 draw in the last-16 on Thursday.

However, they failed to qualify for the group stage of this season's Champions League, losing 4-2 on aggregate to Spanish side Athletic Bilbao in the play-off round.

Reports in Italy suggest club president Aurelio De Laurentiis is already looking for a new head coach with Sampdoria's Sinisa Mihajlovic the favourite to replace Benitez.

Napoli are next in action on Monday, 26 January when they face Genoa at home in Serie A.
