Carlisle United extend Matt Young stay from Sheffield Wednesday

Matt Young made his Carlisle debut in a 1-0 home defeat by Cambridge on 10 January

Carlisle United have extended the loan period of defender Matt Young from Sheffield Wednesday until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old moved to Brunton Park earlier this month and has made three first-team appearances so far.

"Matt has come in and settled into the back four extremely well," Cumbrians boss Keith Curle told the club website.

Young joined Wednesday from Southampton in June 2014, but has yet to play a senior game for the Owls.
