Cambridge United 0-1 Wycombe Wanderers

Hogan Ephraim
Hogan Ephraim's winner was his first goal of the season

Wycombe climbed to second place in League Two with a hard-fought win over Cambridge United.

Robbie Simpson's low shot was tipped around the post by Matt Ingram as the home side started brightly.

Hogan Ephraim gave the visitors the lead with a curled free-kick into the top corner, with Chris Dunn rooted.

Cameron McGeehan was shown a straight red card for violent conduct before Sullay Kaikai tested Ingram with a low shot late on.

Wycombe's eighth away win this season saw them climb to second, one point behind leaders Burton, the Brewers having beaten Cheltenham.

Meanwhile, Cambridge, who were beaten by Manchester United in their FA Cup fourth-round replay on Tuesday, remain 14th in League Two, eight points clear of the relegation zone.
