Blackpool have signed defender Tom Aldred from League Two side Accrington Stanley on a 28-day emergency loan, with a view to a permanent deal.
Aldred, 24, began his career at Carlisle and his previous clubs also include Watford and Colchester.
He had loan spells at Stockport, Torquay and Barrow before moving to Stanley in 2013.
The Scot was signed in time for Saturday's Championship game between bottom club Blackpool and Brighton.
"After having various moves as a young player I definitely need to stabilise my career," he told the club website.
"I'd like to call myself a steady central defender and consistency is key."
