England have included midfielder Katie Chapman in their 23-woman squad for the friendly with USA on 13 February.
Chapman, 32, has not played for England since 2010, and last year claimed she was dropped for wanting time off to look after her family.
Defender Anita Asante, who plays in Sweden, also returns.
Manchester City's injured pair Toni Duggan and Lucy Bronze have been left out while striker Kelly Smith announced her England retirement on Tuesday.
England women's head coach, Mark Sampson, said: "USA provide us with another opportunity to test ourselves against a top tier nation which, moving towards the World Cup, is exactly the type of challenge we need.
"With Kelly Smith's retirement and some regular players injured it also gives us the opportunity to look at some new possibilities."
