AFC Wimbledon captain Alan Bennett has had his contract terminated by mutual consent and re-signed for League of Ireland Premier side Cork City.
The 31-year old centre-back made 71 appearances for Wimbledon after signing for the League Two club in 2013.
"We are well covered at centre-back so we felt it was right to allow Alan to leave," Dons manager Neal Ardley told the club website.
"Alan has been a fantastic professional and a great club captain."
Bennett, who started his career with Cork before joining Reading in 2006, added: "It's sad for me to leave, but I'm going to head home to finish my playing career with my hometown club and that's something I've always wanted to do."
Meanwhile, defender Ryan Sweeney and midfielder Dan Gallagher, both 17, have signed professional contracts at Kingsmeadow.
