Championship One outfit Carrick Rangers overcame Premiership side Institute 3-1 after extra-time to book an Irish Cup quarter-final against Crusaders.

Miguel Chines and Kyle Cherry went close for the Taylor's Avenue side.

Darren McFadden tapped in after good work by Robbie McFadden on 75 minutes but Anto Lagan powered in a header from a Chines corner two minutes from time.

Chines struck a 25-yard effort over Marty Gallagher and into the net in extra-time, then Adam Dick tapped in.

Chines scored in the 95th minute and Dick found the net with a minute of the contest remaining.

Gallagher made a fine stop from a Chines free-kick in the first half, while Cherry blasted wide of the target. and for Institute, Michael McCrudden's stunning volley was stopped by goalkeeper Brian Neeson.

After McFadden broke the deadlock, Lagan levelled three minutes after coming on as a substitute.

Chines's spectacular goal nudged the East Antrim side in front and Dick completed the scoring after Ryan Kane's free-kick had been well saved.
