Defender Neal Eardley has returned to Birmingham City after his loan spell with League One strugglers Leyton Orient was cut short.

The 26-year-old's month-long loan was due to expire on 22 February but he has now made an early return to Blues.

Eardley has not featured since making his Orient debut in the 2-0 defeat at Colchester on 24 January.

Due to his registration with Orient, Eardley cannot feature for Gary Rowett's side until 23 February.

Meanwhile, Gary Rowett confirmed that former NAC Breda and Roda JC defender Kees Luijckx is training with the club.

"He is a player that has been recommended to us," Rowett told the club websiteexternal-link.

"He's played in the top flight at Holland for quite a few seasons and can play as a holding midfielder or as a centre-back."
