Sky Sports presenter David Jones has joined Oxford United's board as a non-executive director.
Jones, who has hosted several football shows for the satellite broadcaster, will advise the board on "all matters", according to a statement from the club.
However, the Sunderland fan will continue to work as a presenter.
"It's a hugely exciting chance to use the knowledge, experience and contacts I've gathered in my career to help grow a very ambitious club," he commented.
Oxford chairman Darryl Eales said Jones, who has worked for Sky since 1998, possessed "insight and enthusiasm" that would benefit the club.
"David and I have chatted over the past 18 months and we have shared views on how football clubs should operate and, in particular, how to build real fan engagement," he added.
"He has a wealth of knowledge as well as an incisive intellect and I am delighted that he has agreed to join the board as we seek to move the club forward on all fronts."
The U's are 17th in League Two, five points clear of the relegation places.
