Halifax held on to record a third successive league win to edge nearer the play-off places.

The home side were 2-0 up inside 20 minutes as Lois Maynard fired home his ninth goal of the season and Richard Peniket's left-footer doubled the lead.

Mid-table Dover hit back as midfielder Tom Murphy found the bottom corner 11 minutes before the break.

Substitute Jamie Jackson made it 3-1 from 20 yards after 66 minutes but Dan Holman's strike made it a tense finish.
