Blackburn Rovers 1-2 Norwich City

Markus Olsson and Nathan Redmond
Norwich City are unbeaten in six matches in the Championship

Norwich City won their fifth Championship match in a row to stay in the play-off places as they came from behind to end Blackburn Rovers' four-match unbeaten run.

Alex Baptiste's first-half header gave the hosts the lead against the run of play.

Substitute Cameron Jerome powerfully levelled for the Canaries at the back post.

Bradley Johnson's stunning 20-yard strike won the game late on.

Jerome forced a stunning save from Jason Steele in the final minute and Blackburn's Rudy Gestede saw an injury-time header parried by John Ruddy.

It was Norwich's second ever triumph at Ewood Park as they remain four points behind second-placed Middlesbrough.

Gary Bowyer's Blackburn are 15 points adrift of the top six as their play-off hopes look to be fading fast.

Norwich dominated early on but were behind when Baptiste powerfully headed home Tom Cairney's free-kick from the left.

Lewis Grabban and Martin Olsson were guilty of bad misses for the visitors before Jerome converted Wes Hoolahan's cross at the back post for his 16th league goal of the season.

The Canaries continued to have the better chances and earned the points when Johnson's strike flew into the top corner, their seventh win out of nine under new manager Alex Neil.

Blackburn Rovers manager Gary Bowyer: "Sometimes you have to put your hands up and say what a wonderful strike it was.

"Hugely disappointing for us of course because we put a huge amount of effort into the game. At 2-1 down we were still fighting at the end but it didn't quite drop for us at the death."

Norwich City manager Alex Neil on Bradley Johnson's winner: "Bradley's capable of that. He's got a fantastic left foot. He's a real danger outside of the box and to be honest it was a goal worthy of winning any game and I was delighted he made contact with it.

"I think it will (the win) confirm in the players' heads that what we're doing are the right things. It will give them a huge shot in the arm in terms of confidence to know that regardless of a setback in the game, they're capable of bouncing back and getting a win."
